I have just started working in RENKO LTD.. I probably mentioned this before. I am quite busy these days so sorry for the lagging updates. I will be posting some new code and ready code reviews. Also since I finished school (yeah baby I got my diploma!!! ) I will also post all my old home works. For now please enjoy the simple slideshow above.

I will be posting my collision detection software (for a 3D world using only one webcam). You will be able to find it on GitHub.

I will like to show my fellow system admins one of the switch’s we are using in the company we work. I think it will make you smile. As you can see the whole thing is a mess and very scary. We are to re-cable the whole thing once I find some time. The switch is actually under power lines.  So lots of interference. Thanks to some miracle the system still works.

I will take a photo of the new version once I fix the whole thing. If I ever find any time. After all I’m the only IT/Software Developer guy throughout the company.

As you can see from the photo I have a nice little corner. The computer is custom made. i7-960 with 6 gigs of ram. The motherboard is true SATA3 so is the hard disk. I very much like my machine. I installed Fedora 15 and Windows 7 64-bit Prof. Dual boot. Very happy over all.

These days I’m writing in Python and C++. So I have been using the new Eclipse IDE. The new Indigo Eclipse is very good. Uses less RAM and less CPU.

For my PHP programs I have been using the new Netbeans 7.0.1. However because of the poor Python support (you have to install a Netbeans 6.8 version plugin which under certain circumstances crashes the whole Netbeans) I really don’t like it. That said the PHP support looks good.

Talking of PHP we moved our http://rentech.com.tr server to Media Temple. They have good service however it really is expensive. I wish they gave a little more RAM without costing an arm and a leg. The whole thing is just too expensive. However the speed is far superior than HostGator which was our previous server host.

I have also moved the whole network to OpenDNS. We were able to stop botnet activity thanks to the switch. It seems one of the computers got infected even though all the PC’s have anti-virus’s. The company was also able to put up some much needed web content filters. Of course now everyone blames the IT guy for the whole thing.

And that is that really. I will probably be buying an Android phone soon. Everything is grand these days. Couldn’t finish my “IP Home Automation Load Balancing” paper yet. I just really didn’t have the time. Was mostly working on my collision software these days.

I may be going back to USA. I really am not sure when it will be happening.

Oh yeah… I wish to ask… Doesn’t it bother you when your door is kicked and you are checked up every so often as if you were in prison? I get really annoyed when my door is opened without a knock these days. I mean. Privacy people!

    Watching the countryside rise and fall like waves ready to hit our steel boat that huffed it self on to the tracks like a beast after good game. The morning cold reminds me of my idiocy of not bringing my jacket. The hot coffee I made 5 o’clock in the morning warms me and assists me to forget my many past mistakes.

    I am on the road to Eskişehir Osmangazi University. A quick drive to the train station [many thanks to my dad here], a fast rail train ride and a bus ride takes me to my destination.

   In the university I will be attending summer courses that I have to take. Probably the last summer course I will ever take.

I will be posting as much photos I can of Eskişehir. It is a beautiful city. Something I really didn’t expect.

I am very busy this summer. I have started a job in RENKO LTD. [www.rentech.com.tr] and also I am working on second home automation based paper with my good teacher Dr.Ali Ziya Alkar. I have some network simulations to do which has proved a little difficult. However I am confident that I will overcome such difficulties.

I have also updated my CV. It now includes my L33T skillz and my pending patent.

The first thing I did was to see how my sites looked in IE 9. I was happy with the result. No out of place div’s or unknown CSS to IE 9 rc. And the second thing I did was to test the browser with the standard test ACID3 test.

On the left you are looking at the result of the test for IE8. Which definitely fails.

No shock there. I mean everyone knows that when it comes to HTML 5 standards and CSS standards IE8 sucks. ( A big sorry to Microsoft but the truth is the truth)

Since we now remembered how IE8 failed the test let us move on to IE 9.

Yeah man!! 9 fricken 5 at last!! A Microsoft browser that is actually as good as Firefox . I have also tested some of the browser attacks and the browser was able to stop all unlike an un-updated IE8. So if a newbie computer user asked if it was OK to use IE9 I would probably say yes!

Let me just show the other tested browsers;

I am personally using Google Chrome and I am loving it! However let me add this tidbit. I don’t endorse Google Chrome or any other browser. After all each browser has its own flavor. And IE8 has the worst one!

First of all I would like to say “Happy New Year!” to all you readers there. I did tweet as such. I haven’t been able to post much due to exams which were present almost every week. This week isn’t any different either. I have a midterm on Microwave Eng., a Microwave Eng. homework due Friday, a microprocessor lab homework due tomorrow, a VHDL project due in two weeks, a make up lab I have to do on DSP lab and a paper due this semester. Not to mention there will be a pop quiz on Tuesday.  So this busy busy schedule shows how busy my year will be. 

On to good news, I already finished my microprocessor homework and wrote the program that will be needed on Friday for the DSP lab. I also did some research on my paper and on my VHDL project. Not to mention studied for my microwave midterm. All in all the new year did start good. Or did it?

As you may know I set up a server for the company called RENKO Ltd.. You can also see the servers uptime on the right. It turns out that the server has not been accessible past three days. Probably some IP problem. Will need to fix it in the morning bright and ugly. Not only that but after fixing the server I have to be at school on time for my lab. So run run run John!

Speaking of running. There is a new game (or old game haven’t been able to play games these days) out that I think you all will like The game is called “Canabalt”. You can find it at http://adamatomic.com/canabalt/ . It’s really easy to play you just need to simply jump and make your way through the city. So far I was able to go 3970 something miles until I jumped a little too high and  crashed into a wall instead the window beneath me.

And talking of games. I think I just got the “Guitar Hero Fever”. In one week I have had 6 hours of Guitar Hero sessions. I just love it! I have never thought singing with your buddies was so fun! I certainly recommend this game as a anti-depression or anti-gloominess medicine. In three hours I had rid my worries of the world and simply dived into musical bliss. If you have never played Guitar Hero I strongly suggest you do!

If you haven’t noticed I have updated my CV however it will need to be re-updated since IEEE transactions  is late on publishing my paper. It is just so annoying. They sent the letter of acceptance and that just satisfied me for about 1,5 months. I mean I want my paper published and I want it now! This is my first paper and I just feel like a kid who was told he will get a present but the grownups suddenly decided not to hand over the present. Bah…
